Dustin StifflerPartner

Dustin Stiffler has 14 years of experience in general construction.  Executive leadership in all phases and aspects of pre-construction, construction, and commissioning including estimating, project management, planning, pre-construction and scheduling for AUI’s commercial division. Dustin works with AUI’s Partners to structure strategic proposals, negotiate business terms, and close business ventures. Dustin has his BS in Construction Management Technology from Oklahoma State University.

Dustin started at AUI as a Project Engineer and quickly grew to Construction Manager by 2012 of the Multi-Family Division.

Charles PlumhoffPartner

As Partner and CFO of AUI, Charles is responsible for all financial operations of the company, including financing, reporting and accounting, risk management and legal matters. Charles also oversees the Human Resources and Technology departments of the company. He has over twenty years of experience in business management and executive leadership of construction companies.

Charles has his BBA from the University of Texas at Arlington, where he graduated in 1991. He has his CPA license (Certified Public Accountant) and is a CCIFP (Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional).

Charles is active in industry associations and gives back to the industry by participating at many levels, such as being a board member of the Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter of CFMA. He is also a member of the Accounting and Reporting Committee for CFMA National, the Tax Advisory Group and Accounting and Reporting Committee for National Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC).

Mario CarbonePartner

Mario started with AUI in December 2006 as Director of Construction Services. He has 25 years of overall construction industry experience with more than 10 years specialized in renewable energy. Mario plays a key role in the continued growth and success of AUI with his primary focus being on the renewable energy market. His focus is to utilize his industry experience and relationships to enhance AUI’s focus on wind and solar energy, while expanding into other renewable sectors. Mario is also very intent on developing and implementing plans to grow and foster better client relationships company wide.

Mario’s diverse and operations focused background includes commercial building, heavy civil (earthwork, underground utilities, bridge & road), water/wastewater, railroad, multi-family, and renewable energy. More recently his focus has been on successfully executing more than 1200 MW of wind and 800 MWdc of solar projects. Mario’s responsibilities include managing and executing all pre-development/pre-construction effort to support our client needs, with focus on site selection, conceptual budget estimating, and project scheduling. Other responsibilities also include developing overall company sales goals and develop strategy for monitoring and executing an effective sales team and processes.

Prior to joining AUI, Mario was a Vice President at Natgun Corporation in Wakefield, MA. In his VP role, he oversaw operations in the Estimating Department, planned and executed company policy and direction, and collaborated in the development of annual sales forecasts and territory goals. From 1992-1997, he occupied several job posts of growing responsibility at Turner Construction Company in Boston, MA.

Born in Lima, Peru, Mario earned a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering in 1992 from Union College in Schenectady, NY. He is an active member of the Southlake Executive Forum in Southlake, Texas, , The National Institute of Renewable Energy (NIRE), The Wind Alliance, Solar Energy Professional Network, Wind Power Industry Professionals, Solar Energy International (SEI), American Wind Energy Association (AWEA), Wind Energy on Public Lands, TEXO, the Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter of the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC), and he has completed his Green Advantage Environmental Certification (GAC).
